Have an Impact

Superior Education
Combining dental education with a medical school curriculum, the College of Dental Medicine is uniquely positioned to bring dentistry into the age of precision medicine. We have long recognized the relationship between oral health and systemic health, and as the boundaries between them disappear, we are looking ahead to a future where care will be tailored to specific populations and individuals. Our DDS students and postdoctoral residents are at the forefront of this change.

Groundbreaking Research
The generation of new knowledge through research is an integral and highly-valued activity at the College of Dental Medicine. Our faculty engages in wide-ranging areas of research, from oropharyngeal cancer to public health. Such research broadens the definition of dental medicine and builds on advances in oral health, social science, and education.

Outstanding Oral Healthcare
At the College Of Dental Medicine's teaching clinics and in our mobile dental vans, our dentists-in-training work with expert faculty to provide patients in our communities with excellent, comprehensive care. CDM is among the first academic dental institutions to unify dental and medical patient electronic health records, which are shared between all clinicians at Columbia, New York-Presbyterian, and Weill Cornell Medicine.
