Supporting students at the School of the Arts

Student artists become leaders of their generation of writers, filmmakers, theatre practitioners, and visual artists, creating work that helps make sense of these turbulent times.

Your gifts provide essential scholarship support for the next generation of artists who will go on to create transformational works of art and scholarship….while reducing their financial burden.

Join us this Columbia Giving Day as we come together to support the talented student artists at the School of the Arts!

"This fellowship gave me confidence, community, and a platform to grow. Inspired by your generosity, I'm committed to giving back. In the future, I plan to support emerging artists and students, continuing the cycle of encouragement and artistic spirit that you have so kindly fostered."

Student Fellowships

Provide financial aid for students in Film, Theatre, Visual Arts, or Writing, or support our general fund that will be dispersed as needed.

Dean’s Travel Program

Twice per year, students can apply for travel grants to conduct domestic or international research, complete performance-based projects, or attend global festivals and events. Projects can range from shooting thesis films and scouting locations for authenticity to traveling to specific places that inform creative writing, provide linguistic immersion, or enable collaboration with local artists and authors. Across disciplines, travel is often justified as essential to ensuring cultural accuracy and creative authenticity.
