Columbia Law School

Button Hover Effect

One Day. Lasting Impact.

Columbia Law School's Annual Fund helps to ensure students and faculty have resources to address society’s most pressing issues. Gifts to the fund stand apart because they are available right away, enabling the dean to seize opportunities and bring ideas to life. Your generosity supports faculty research, student financial aid, public interest programs (including LRAP), and other key institutional priorities. Philanthropy provides one third of the Law School’s income and more than half of the entering class receives grant or scholarship aid.

Participation matters! Together, we can make a transformative impact.

Support the Dean’s Discretion

These gifts provide the dean with the flexibility to fund urgent and immediate needs of Columbia Law School, supporting the Law School’s strength and dynamism and reinforcing our position as one of the leading centers for legal education in the world. Gifts for use at the Dean’s discretion support faculty recruitment and retention; financial aid for students; improvements to infrastructure; and so much more.

Support International and LL.M. Programs

This fall, Columbia Law School celebrates the 130th anniversary of the LL.M. program. Your support helps fund scholarships and programs for LL.M. and international students, supporting our commitment to preparing students to address society’s most pressing global issues, and building on our history of leadership and distinction in international law. LL.M. students add to the breadth and depth of the Law School community. For example, members of the LL.M. Class of 2025 represented 63 countries and included 13 Fulbright Scholars.

Support Public Service and Public Interest Law

Help ensure that a career in public interest or public service is a choice all students can make. By giving to this fund, you’ll support courses, the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), clinics, human rights initiatives, pro bono projects, and more. This year, the Office of Public Interest/Public Service Law and Careers celebrated several milestones and achievements, including 40 years of providing transformative real-world legal education through the Human Rights Internship Program, and two recipients of the prestigious Skadden Fellowship.
