Driving Our Purpose

Since March 2009, Columbia Global Centers I Amman has served as a hub for programs and educational initiatives throughout the Middle East, providing Columbia faculty and students with meaningful opportunities to expand their research and scholarship, and as a conduit for knowledge exchange and skill development with local and regional academics, experts, and practitioners. We have curated countless programs, webinars, and conversations, to help inform a more nuanced understanding of our region and current events.

From Research to Impact

We are engaged in a number of important themes pertaining to our regional context, from forced migration to entrepreneurship to public health. The immediacy and proximity of the Amman Center to various refugee crisis that unfolded allowed for a rapid deployment of academic resources to help deliver impact. Over the years, we have become a hub on forced migration and displacement at both an academic and policy level. We also host an important fellowship program targeting emerging and displaced scholars.

Your support can help ensure the Amman Center continues to create and offer innovative programming for our students and local audiences as well as deliver impactful research-based initiatives that help address some of the world's most pressing challenges.
